A Celebration of Beauty.....

Today, I want to share with you my tutorial which was included in the latest issue of the "Dialogue," the periodical magazine sent out by Decoupage Artists Worldwide to their members.

One of my all time favorite items for decoupage is the dressmaker's mannequin and my tutorial gives step by step instructions as to how to create your own work of art!

I called my mannequin "A Celebration of Beauty" you can see why when you look at the images that I used to create her!

More photos of her are available from my Etsy shop ArtCollageByFiona.

Getting into the Christmas spirit!

Well, December has finally made it's appearance and Christmas is almost here! I know it's a bit early to start feeling festive but when you are involved in crafts and crafting you tend to get into the Christmas spirit quite early!

At this time of year there are various craft fairs where I participate as "Fiona's Creations" one of my favorites being the SPAZ Christmas Bazaar on the 15th and 16th of December. SPAZ is a charity which takes care of stray animals and in my opinion a great and worthwhile cause and I'm proud to be able to contribute by being a regular vendor at their bazaars.

Since the summer I have been busy making items for the Christmas fairs and some of my favorites are these trays from my French country range. I have also included these trays in my Etsy shop "HandmadeByFiona".

These trays are made with the distressed paint technique and then I added the French typography transfers and decoupaged on pretty images, all courtesy of the Graphics Fairy.

As tomorrow is Sunday I will have the luxury of being able to spend the whole day in my studio creating some more items for the fairs.
